Support. Everyday support is so nice. We are so lucky to have an AMAZING everyday support system. However, having support when a crisis hits is even more important. I personally would not have made it through Easton's hospitalization without everyone who supported us. Whether you were there in person, through the phone, no matter what it was so appreciated. THANK YOU!
Another HUGE source of support during those tough weeks was the Ronald McDonald House. The wing that Easton was kept in was on floor 3 of the Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. The Ronald McDonald House was on the same floor. I cannot even speak to how amazing they were. If you don't know what they do, I encourage you to look into them. At Children's Minneapolis, they have a facility that provides so much. From a full kitchen, laundry, free dinners every single night, hotel rooms, SHOWERS, they really do think of everything. You don't understand how thankful I was for a shower! And all of this was 3 doors and a few hallways away from Easton's room. There staff was so incredibly friendly, helpful and supportive. Whether I needed a quick granola bar to get through the afternoon or 12 hours of sleep, they were there. They also kept ice cream in the freezer... bless their hearts. They are truly AMAZING.
Their services are completely free to anyone who's family is staying at Children's and their family. This is possible by the help of donations and volunteers. Ever see those little spots to drop change for Ronald McDonald House? That is where it goes to... and ever penny counts!
Giving Back
Since they did so much for us when we needed it the most, we are giving back! The DM Ninjas are participating in the 2nd Annual RBC Race for The Kids in August. For this, we will be participating in a 3 mile family walk/run along the Mississippi. All proceeds go towards keeping families close to their little ones when tough times hit. Please consider donating, it is such an amazing cause!
