Easton was born in Grand Rapids, MN, after a rocky pregnancy filled with hospital stays and illness. At the time of birth, he was diagnosed with congenital CMV (cytomegalovirus). I had contracted the virus late in my 2nd trimester and passed it to him. Even though the risk was high for birth defects, Easton came home healthy after 3 days. Born at 36 weeks, he was small but strong. Things were wonderful for the first two months. During that second month, he began to have feeding issues. He struggled to swallow and gain weight...
... and that is where our LONG journey began.
Birth Weight: 5 lbs 7 oz
Current Weight: 17 lbs 14 oz

Meet Easton!
What's with the NINJA thing?
When I was younger, my dad had Ewings Sarcoma cancer. We use to say that the chemotherapy drugs were like little "ninjas" fighting off the cancer cells. Thus became "DM Ninjas". The DM standing for my dad, Easton's grandpa, Dan McClure. The DM Ninja symbol has become a symbol of strength in the face of adversity, especially in times of illness.
So, Easton is our littlest ninja!
